Hi

First, may I say a belated Happy Halloween! I made it through the past two days without binging on chocolate only to win a raffle at my daughter's school which included Pumpkin Spice Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Candies. I mean, how is a person supposed to stay away from THAT? So, I caved. Forgive me if this lesson appears a bit frantic. I am still coming down from the sugar high.

We have also been having some harsh technical difficulties with YouTube which is where we process eNotes videos. So, for this video, it is just named "Video 19". Can't name it! Sorry this is a long time coming!

This video teaches you how to reharmonize an extremely common progression of I - V7. In the key of C that would be C-G7. The variations are as follows. I have used roman numerals so you play these variations or reharmonizations in any key.

I / ii V7
I vi / V7
I #Idim / ii V7
I I/third in base / IV V7
I #iidim / ii V7

Give it a try. I have used the song "Get Me to the Church on Time" as an example.

That's it for today. Remember.....

love your piano and it will love you back!
Sincerely,
Debbie
p.s. stay warm!
