Hello
Today's lesson is all about that melody. I mean, what do you sing when you remember a song? Not the chords, not the rhythm, it's the melody right? You bet it is.
When you play a popular or jazz melody, it is expected that you will play around with it, vary it, ornament it. This is okay and even expected. Yes expected!
So this video is gonna teach you four tricks for embellishing a melody. They include grace notes (slides or glides in jazz lingo), turns, mordents, and chromatic passing tones!

There are so many other embellishments you can learn for the left and the right hand. Check out the DVDs on the website!
