Hello

Today's eNotes is all about mood in music.

You know how we get in certain moods (all the time!) and crave music that expresses those moods or counters them? I know I do.

Well, how does that happen? Through harmony (minor chords, major chords), rhythm, texture, instrumentation, tempo, dynamics, phrasing, and pitch, we can create and change sounds that will completely change a mood.

In this video, I play the same song but in very different ways to elicit a completely changed mood. We will then analyze what I did to make that happen!
